Welcome to the Openshaw Park Folk Tales & Fables Trail.

This collection of original stories and poems was created especially for Openshaw Park and invites you to explore the landscape through storytelling, listening, and imagination.

Each story reveals a different part of the park and the characters, creatures, and ideas that live within it.

Where to Begin

The trail begins beside the bowling green, where a large cherry tree stands at the centre of the garden area.

Find the bench with the metal QR code on as pictured below.

Trail Map

Follow the numbered points around the park and scan the QR codes to listen to each story.

Allow approximately 60-90 minutes to complete the trail.

The trail includes five story points and can be explored at your own pace.
